OfficeMax Selling MediaSmartServer for $299

If you missed out on HP's $299 MediaSmart Server deal, then you may want to jump on this one. OfficeMax.com is selling the HP MediaSmart Server for $299. No hoops to jump through, no rebate checks for using Live Search, nothing. Just $299 period.

So what's the catch? You will have to pay sales tax and the sale is for a limited time only (through 11/29). Just go to OfficeMax.com and place your order. I was told that shipping was free, but I have been unable to confirm. I think the policy is that shipping is free if you live within 30 miles of an OfficeMax store.

Thanks to sklwork for pointing this one out!

I couldn't pass this one up, so I went ahead and ordered. Shipping was free and I live well beyond a 30 mile radius from a retail location.

I can't thank you enough for posting this, you just saved me about $150 because I've spent all morning mulling over whether to pull the trigger over there!

Thanks, Donovan. A great deal ad shipping was free. Why I needed another WHS, I don't know, but I couldn't pass it up!

Shipping is free on all orders over $50 based on what I can find on their site and it also appears this is WHILE supplies last. they linked me to this site when I clicked on the shop HP servers from their homepage. It appears they have a 1 terabite server on sale too.

Damnit! I just ordered the one from yesterday's deal at HP's site. Where will the madness end?

I pulled the trigger as well, I went for the 500 Gig model (at $299), rather than the 2x500 Gig model (at $399) - the price difference is *almost* the price of a Terabyte drive. I was going to re-purpose an older Dell P4 server, but it wouldn't take 4x SATA drives, nor would it be as small/quiet as this system.

I tried to order and the shopping cart indicated the item was discontinued. Bummer!

I ordered one on the 8th of Nov from HP with the $50 off and the $30 coupon code. After seeing this I went to OfficeMax's site and saw it was available in my area. I called HP to ask if I could still return the one I purchased from them, and they offered to price match when they found out the reason. I told the rep the link to the site for price verification, and then they refunded me the difference, over $120. So if you have recently purchased one, try calling and asking for a price match!

Ordered one on Monday, got it Tuesday, and the 2GB G.Skill stick and a 500GB drive I ordered the same time from Newegg for $106 arrived the next day.

Definitely a good deal
