All I want for Xmas is an HP MediaSmart Server

image

So you really want an HP MediaSmart Server, but it's taken you until two days before Christmas to convince your wife that you actually need one. Now, how do you get one? There's no time to look around the Interwebs for the best deals. You need one under the tree NOW damnit!

Here are some of your options::

Amazon.com $499 + 2 day shipping

Amazon.com is probably your best bet, but you'll have to forgo free shipping if you want one under the tree on Christmas morning. Two day shipping to my address is $26.23 bringing your total cost to $526.22.

Another 2 day option is to purchase Amazon Prime. What you do is pay a fee upfront that will allow you free 2nd day shipping (and $3.99 next day shipping) for one year. I have it and LOVE it. It eliminates situations where you want to buy something, but the shipping is more than the item I hate that! Yu can even give away up to 4 Prime memberships to family members for no extra change.

With Prime, you can even order on December 23rd, pay $3.99 and have it arrive the next day. You can't beat that!

For details on Amazon Prime, and to sign up, click here.

Circuit City $549 + tax

At Circuit City you can buy online and pick up your item in the store. This won't be available in all locations, and you will have to pay sales tax, but it's quick!

eCost $379 (good until 11pm EST)

NOTE THIS IS A REFURBISHED UNIT. eCost has another bargain Countdown good unto 11pm tonight EST. Second day shipping is another $40-ish, but check with them to make sure that it will arrive by Christmas (it was unclear).

Do you know of another option? Please reply so that others can share in the Windows Home Server holiday spirit!

Fin. Why not comment on what you've just read or even Digg It!

Also, depending on location, Amazon will charge sales tax as well.

B & H has them in stock and is offering free shipping and no tax in most states. Standard shipping will not get it there in time, but it's new and it's cheaper than most sites. $472.95

dude! that Via is so cool and small! I built one custom using a tower case and all the trimmings - thats giant compared to this thing! Very nice! Ok, so what I would do is keep the Via and give my brother-in-law the old custom Home Server because he is a newbie trying to be a tech (but not yet certified). He would love a new toy to learn on! I would love a new toy to add to my toy collection! Nice project! Keep em coming!
