WHS MVP Alex Kurtz posted over on MediaSmartServer.net that Windows Home Server is now available for download on Technet and MSDN (subscription required). This has been a point of contention for along time and I couldn't be happier that it's finally happened!
If you have a Technet or MSDN subscription, go get your copy now.
NOTE: I have checked my MSDN and Tech and don't see it. However WHS MVP Sam Wood confirmed it, but he lives on the other side of the International Date Line so maybe we'll get tomorrow in the US? :)

Have been a technet plus customer for a long time and am finally glad to see this available. I do own a HP Mediasmart...but have been wanting to do the shuttle pc project for ever....now it will save me some $ while I build my little project.
I don't know if I missing something here. But you have been able to DL a trail version for some time from WHS home page at Microsoft. Link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0960c088-c539-4265-9c5c-84fb6b2dadca&displaylang=en
Or is this news about a buy it now download?

@fasthair - MSDN/TechNet subscribers (a paid service) can download various Microsoft software tools/OSs for testing and development purposes. THis is NOT a limited time tril copy but an honest to good real copy of WHS with a real key.
*** UPDATE *** I'm getting reports that WHS was taken down from MSDN/TechNet. I'll try and confirm this with my contacts at Microsoft. If you CAN see it, it suggest that you download it NOW just in case it disappears for you.
Thanks for clearing that up for me Donavan. Learned something new today ;)

Nope Microsoft has taken it down :( still no Love for WHS
fasthair - this is the full version of WHS - but only avaialble to subscribers (paid) of MSDN and Technet
Yep, I also confirm that Windows Home Server has been removed. For the record, it was Windows Home Server with Power Pack 1.
I saw the buzz about this yesterday and I grabbed a copy right away. I just looked now, and it is gone, as the other posters have said.
Mine came with one "retail" key. On the web site, it says that retail keys can be used for more than one activation. I haven't installed yet - but does anyone know if this is true - and how many activations will be allowed?
Oh man! I got this from MSDN yesterday and generated a key, expecting it would be there today. Now I have the download but no key. I hope they fix this and put it back up!
I have both a Action Pack and a Technet subscription, I'm glad it's on Technet now so I can cancel my Action Pack without having to get an OEM copy now. I'll just reinstall with a Technet key.
My friend over at We Got Served had a little fun explaining what happen with the MSDN/TechNet situation. Board? Punch drunk from lack of sleep? Who knows. :)
Bottom line: it was a test and the actual download should be coming soon.
It is on TECHNET and MSDN now!!!!!!!!!!!!
I posted this on mswhs.com, but it looks like the comments might be a little more active here.
How many keys will it allow you to have? I know when it “leaked” a week ago it only allowed 1. Has that been changed now that it’s official?
Thanks.
Just did a chat with the Technet Concierge and found out that Technet/MSDN will get you 1 key good for 10 activations.
