Subsonic: Another Streaming Option for WHS

image

Computing on Demand has a good article showing how to install the open-source Subsonic music streamer on a Windows Home Server. Subsonic is yet another streaming option for getting to your music collection from anywhere on the web. There is also a Subsonic app for mobile phones that support Java. I'm not a big Java fan, so I haven't tried it yet, so please leave a comment here with your thoughts if you do.

Fin. Why not comment on what you've just read or even Digg It!

I use Ampache (ampache.org). It works really well, and has a flash player for a mini-ui or mobile device.

It requires PHP & MySQL, but I had those configured for other projects anyway.

I also used andromeda (turnstyle.com/andromeda/) for VERY barebones streaming before discovering ampache.
