Microsoft announces Home Server Power Pack 1 at CES

This week Microsoft announced an update to Windows Home Server. Dubbed Power Pack 1 (formerly code named UR1) at CES. Here are the highlights:

  • x64 support for Connector software allows you to backup Vista x64 and XP x64 machine to your Windows Home Server.
  • Windows Home Server Data Backup allows you to backup the Home Server itself.
  • More remote access flexibility.
  • Wizard for backup database consistency errors.

Power Pack 1 will be released sometime in early 2008 via Windows Update.
