Get 'em Before They're Gone!

imageIt seems like the HP MediaSmart Server is starting to sell out everywhere. Maybe its just the "must have" Christmas gift this year. We've seen OfficeMax burn through their stock of EX470s at only $299, but now we're seeing other retailers supply dry as well.

Best Buy is reporting "sold out" while Amazon.com is reporting "only 5 left" at $499.

HP is selling them directly for $499 with free shipping (take an additional $10 off with coupon code SV9044). And Newegg is also selling theirs for $499.

I bought the last EX470 at a Fry's here in the Atlanta 2-3 weeks ago for $499. It was tough to find, out of stock at Circuit City locally.

I was "this close" to jumping on one of the $299 OfficeMax special deals, but couldn't justify another Home Server. Now that they are scarce at $499, I kind of wish that I had.

I was lucky to get one from Amazon last week at $399! It's not the OfficeMax $299 deal, but it's still a good deal...

OK, so it's not the screaming deal a lot of you got, but HP is listing the EX470 for $449. ($549 - $100.00 in rebates) and the old $30.00 coupon code (SV2132) still works, so I got one for $419 plus shipping. Hope someone else finds a better deal somewhere, but this was good enough for me.
